After 25 years of studying polyphonic music from around the world, Lauren Breunig, Jeremy Carter-Gordon, Lynn Rowan, and Will Rowan share a vibrant energy onstage and a vocal blend that is only possible with decades of friendship alongside dedicated practice. Windborne’s 2024 album of music for midwinter, To Warm the Winter Hearth, set crowdfunding records as the 5th most successful album of any genre, selling over 12,000 physical copies in the first month. The group is a viral hit social media with such unlikely genres as Corsican polyphony or early 20th century labor anthems, with younger audiences turning out in strength.
