Institution/Business Type: Artist / Creative (Individual)

I weave and market traditional Penobscot ash and sweetgrass baskets. I consult to organizations, museums and tribes and coach other Native American artists in their arts businesses. I am a successful grant writer and have co-curated a number of national exhibitions for art museums. I am available for museum demonstrations, public presentations, artist residencies and to teach other tribal artists in apprenticeships. I am the founding executive director of the Maine Indian Basketmakers Alliance (founded in 1993) and lead the organization for 20 years. I have been a professional artist since 1988, having apprenticed with the late Madeline Tomer Shay (Penobscot).
