VEERdance Company is a contemporary dance group in Western Massachusetts. The core artists work collaboratively to choreograph timely, socially relevant pieces. Blending ballet, contemporary floorwork, hip-hop, martial arts influence, and partnering, the works present aesthetically diverse choreography.
Founded in 2018, Fern Katz and Verity Nichols joined forces, with the addition of Taylor King soon after. Together, the three have collaborated to create and perform Whorl, still : holds, and most recently, Can You See Me? in collaboration with singer/songwriter, Sandy Bailey. In an upcoming project (2020/2021), Katz and King will endeavor to make a work in collaboration with live musicians and a community cast of dancers. Most importantly, VEERdance Company's core artists value equitable creation processes, collaborations, and well-produced work in rural towns and post-industrial small cities.
