VAL RAMOS FLAMENCO ENSEMBLE

The Val Ramos Flamenco Ensemble is one of the best traditional Flamenco and Flamenco fusion groups in the United States. Established in 1994, the group features the unique talents of VAL RAMOS (lead Flamenco guitarist), JOSE R. RAMOS (Flamenco guitarist), SHAWN MONTANEZ (Flamenco guitarist), ALFONSO CID (singer), KRIS JENSEN (flutist), CARLOS HERNANDEZ CHAVEZ (bassist), ASHLEY JONES (violinist), and NESTOR PRIETO (percussionist). The ensemble has toured in Spain, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. and is featured in two independent albums. Its music is featured in two public television documentaries. The ensemble can include Flamenco dancers and often performs as a traditional "cuadro Flamenco." Various formats are possible: guitar duo, musical trio or quartet, full ensemble, "cuadro Flamenco." Flamenco dance and guitar school residencies, master classes, and workshops are possible.
