Institution/Business Type: Performing Group

Triple Shadow’s ALICE: END OF DAZE is a dark adaptation of Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass" featuring live music, real-time video projections, puppetry and masks. ALICE: END OF DAZE follows Alice as she escapes into a fantastic, surreal wonderland where she meets some familiar -- and occasionally sinister -- humans and puppet characters such as Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledum, and Tweedledee. END OF DAZE explores the nature of time, visual perception and consciousness and was developed in Chiapas, Mexico, the Santa Fe Art Institute and La MaMa E.T.C. in New York. Triple Shadow’s unique combination of comic, subtle and transcendent elements evokes the world of nature as an active force in the unfolding of human events. The collaborative’s approach reflects technique and spirit of diverse cultural sources including Bali and Java. The company is directed by Beth Skinner, with composer/musician Edward Herbst, video/lighting designer Paul Clay & designer Jun Maeda.
