Institution/Business Type: Performing Group

Trinity Rep is a leader in arts education. From our landmark Project Discovery student matinee program, which has brought over 1.4 million students to the theater since its inception in 1966, to Trinity Rep’s Active Imagination Network, which offers specially designed classes for children on the autism spectrum, our philosophy on theater education is all about access, outreach, and full-bodied, whole-hearted participation. Not only do we offer regular classes for children and adults, but our teachers can be found building enthusiasm throughout Rhode Island’s classrooms, libraries, and hospitals, and the graduates from our MFA program in acting and directing can be spotted on Broadway, in regional theater, film and television. No matter the forum, Trinity Repertory Company’s Education Department is constantly seeking new ways to innovate programming, in order to expose more diverse populations to the hands-on 21st century skills provided by an exemplary theater education.
