Tinky Weisblat is a singer, food writer, and historian known as the Diva of Deliciousness. She has a master’s degree in journalism and a Ph.D. in American studies.

Her singing specialty is American popular standards, often in the company of composer/pianist Jerry Noble. In 2022, she is particularly excited about celebrating the centenary of screen/singing legend Judy Garland. Tinky brings her historical training to bear in all of her performances.

In the kitchen, she loves to explore the ways in which food can remind us of people and events in the past. She writes with heart and humor.

Tinky is the author of four books. The Pudding Hollow Cookbook explores the foodways of the Massachusetts hilltowns in which she lives. Pulling Taffy is a memoir (with recipes!) describing her final year of taking care of her mother, who suffered from dementia but still had a vibrant spirit. Love, Laughter, and Rhubarb is an ode to Tinky’s favorite spring food. And Pot Luck, which will be published in the fall of 2022, lives up to its name by celebrating just about anything with food: holidays, music, film, television, and American history. Its subtitle is “Random Acts of Cooking.”

Tinky cooks frequently on the lifestyle program Mass Appeal on WWLP-TV and loves to talk to libraries, clubs, and organizations about her books and her life. (She can always be persuaded to sing a song or two!) For more information, visit her website, tinkycooks.com.
