RI
Southside Cultural Center of Rhode Island connects, cultivates and engages community through the arts. SCCRI is housed within a early 20th century historic building located at the landmark Trinity Square - the crossroads of three diverse and vibrant neighborhoods: South Side, West End, and Elmwood. SCCRI is home to six partner tenant organizations: Arte Latino of New England (ALNE), Cambodian Society of Rhode Island (CSRI), Laotian Community Center (LCC), Providence Improvisation Guild (PIG), Rhode Island Black Storytellers (RIBS) and Rhode Island Latino Arts (RILA) collectively providing classes, workshops, performances and other services that reflect and platform this distinct neighborhood. The facility features a 300 seat proscenium theatre, a 150 seat, obstruction free, community/performance space, classrooms and studios. The exterior features the luminous and flexible 1,200 square-foot RISD designed SouthLight Pavilion which opens in all directions to a 10,000-square-foot generous lawn and native plant garden ideal for large events and outdoor gatherings.
