Sasha Richardson

I am a Choreographer, dancer, and teacher in rural Maine. I own Expansion Arts Dance Studio and have danced professionally with Art Moves Dance Ensemble and other collectives. 

I grew up in western Maine dancing with Art Moves and other local studios. When I graduated high school, I attended Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY to major in Dance. There I found my love for choreography and an individualized approach to teaching. My Choreography was shown at the Student Choreographers Showcase at Dance Theater Workshop in Manhattan, where we could get feedback for our work and connect with other student choreographers. This was an amazing experience, and I would be very interested in participating in a similar project in New England. 

I have traveled to Brasil twice to professionally create and perform with companies there. Another amazing experience where language and culture created a new environment for learning and growing as a dancer and choreographer.

I currently choreograph on Expansion Arts advanced dancers, but have worked with other adult companies in the state as well. I continue my professional development with classes and workshops. My work has been shown around the state of Maine and while traveling to Brasil.  I am interested in having more time with professional and pre-professional dancers to develop more extensive and elaborate work.
