Sam Rush is a queer and trans Poet and Teaching Artist based in Nashua, NH. Originally from South Florida, Sam began writing poems after developing progressive hearing loss and realizing how many words each word could be. They have performed and led workshops around the country at colleges, universities, and secondary schools, and on stages such as the Bowery Poetry Vlub and the Nuyorican. They we're a finalist in the 2016 National Poetry Slam and are the author of Swallow (Sibling Rivalry Press, September 2020). Their work has been featured in The Offing, Muzzle, The Journal, and elsewhere. While not writing poems, Sam has spent the last decade working in youth development and experiential environmental education.
