Radio Free Earth

Radio Free Earth is Joshua Wachtel’s musical project, presenting crossover music for these strange, new times.

Crossover is neo-retro. It’s political and spiritual. It’s fun and funny, but also thought-provoking and moving. The tunes get stuck in your head, and they sometimes even change the way you think and act.

Radio Free Earth is eclectic, based on a foundation of music from the past 100 years, but also speaks to the moment. Wachtel can pull out a long forgotten song by someone you never heard of, then an overlooked gem by someone you did, and slam a theme home with an original tune composed (or “folk processed”) by Wachtel and his late songwriting parter Alexei “The Old Space Ranger” Panshin  or “Brother Ben” Wachtel.

Currently Wachtel is available to perform solo, as a duo with accompanist Dave Christopolis, or with a larger group.
