Sarah Nolen is a professional puppeteer and puppet builder. Originally from Austin, Texas, she is currently the third-ever resident artist at Puppet Showplace Theater in Boston. Sarah tours with original puppet productions; teaches workshops and residencies; and builds puppets for both stage and screen. As a puppeteer, Sarah has performed around the United States and internationally in various productions. Her solo works have been chosen for the National Puppet Slams of 2012, 2013 and 2015. As a teaching artist, Sarah has worked with ages pre-K through adult, teaching everything from simple crafts to advanced production labs. With a masters degree in Puppet Arts, Sarah has built puppets for productions around New England, including The Boston Pops Orchestra, Connecticut Repertory Theater, and Lion King, Jr. As a member of the company "Good Hearted Entertainment, she also has performed Word Play, a literacy based puppet show, at venues across New England.
