Prometheus Dance presents original award-winning dance/theater created by Artistic Directors Diane Arvanites & Tommy Neblett. Developed through a highly charged visceral language, the dances of Prometheus are an engaging and provocative journey for the spectator. The company of highly skilled performers promises an evening of provocative dance and exciting artistry. Prometheus has been presented at numerous venues in New York City and throughout New England, most recently by the Joyce SoHo, Spoke of the Hub, Crash Arts, Jacob’s Pillow, Outside the Box Festival, Riverside Dance Festival, Bates Dance Festival, and the Yard. Internationally, Prometheus has been presented several times in France, Spain, Venezuela, and Ecuador. Prometheus has been named “One of the Year’s Ten Best in Dance“ five times by Boston Critics. The Directors have received numerous awards for their work, including a Creativity Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, six Artists Fellowships for Choreography from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (most recently in 2014), a citation for Excellent Artistic Achievement from Governor Deval Patrick, and a Gold Star Award.
