My work is rooted in what I call "Hemispheric Principles" or Indigenous princilples of culture, sound and engineering. In othe words "Hemisipheric Principles" is the belief that the universe is composed od "waves" , and waves in their infinite variations all share certain universal qualities, undertanding these principles informs my work in the sonic, aquatic, percussive and harmonic mediums. My work over the years has been as contemporary jazz artist, educator and practicioner of canoe culture, which has taken me throught Europe and the USA performing with artists like Bobby McFerin, Rashid Ali, Shannon Jackson, Pheron Aklaf, Ravi Coltrane, Ntozke Shange to name but a few. As an educator I have presented lecture demonstations on the Indigenous Roots of American music at universites and schools from Harvard and Wesleyan to The Museum of the American Indian (Smithsonian NYC), Amrican Museum of Natural History as well numeruos schools.
I am from the community that became known as the Windsor Indians or River Indians and am of Maheekanew, Mohawk and Cherokee descent.
