Institution/Business Type: Artist / Creative (Individual)

Libby Bullinger is a dance educator and choreographer from Boston, MA. She received her initial training at José Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, MA, and graduated from Mercyhurst University with degrees in Dance and Dance Education.

In 2022, Libby established Dance LAB, an artistic collective that aims to produce dance projects based on creative collaboration, vulnerable exploration, and the generation of innovative art. It is Libby’s goal that Dance LAB will provide local dance artists with performance opportunities in an inclusive environment that prioritizes humanity and the creative process instead of just the aesthetic of the final product.

Currently, Libby serves as a faculty member at Boston Ballet and José Mateo Ballet Theatre in addition to bringing dance and dance fitness classes to a variety of community and arts centers. Her teaching is inspired by student-centered learning, equitable exchange of information, and anatomic integrity.

One of Libby’s main focuses is her own continuing pursuit of learning and study of dance scholarship. She is currently continuing her dance education through courses at the National Dance Education Organization to ensure she can continue providing high-quality, informed, and research-based instruction to dance students of all ages and experience levels.

Libby's work, both educationally and choreographically, is fueled by human connection and the constant desire to learn and explore.
