Institution/Business Type: Independent Press

LBT is a publisher of theatrical works -- plays, musicals, short plays, interactive murder mysteries, children's theatre,Youtheatre, and Virtual/Streaming theatre for all producing groups. We license professionals, amateurs and educational organizations for live performances.

We are new to Maine and New England, but bring with us 39 years of experience in the Play Publishing/Licensing Industry. With our previous play publishing/licensing entity we spent 30 years building the business before we sold it to a competitor; it just grew too big to handle. Our authors contacted us within a few years and asked us to take them back and represent their new work, so in 2012 Leicester Bay Theatricals was formed.  In our move to beautiful New England (Maine, in particular), we are rapidly gaining many new friends on both the writing and producing sides of the business.  We hope to discover many new artists and producers all across New England, and work to serve the needs of both this vital community, and assist this vital community to reach the worldwide theatre community.

We license worldwide, which is also where we look for material for our catalogs. (Three new shows just came in from the U.K. We are in negotiations with many writers in Maine to acquire new properties. We have playwrights from New Hampshire and from Massachusetts.)

Leicester Bay Theatricals is always interested in well-written, adaptations, original titles, with provocative, vital, and interesting subjects. Submission guides are on our website. Always feel free to email us a query about your play or musical, whether the website says we are taking submissions or not. Just tell us you found us on CreativeGround.org
