Institution/Business Type: Artist / Creative (Individual)

I am a National Geographic Explorer and professor in the department of Politics, Economics, and International Studies at the University of Hartford in Connecticut.

My work takes an interdisciplinary approach, melding the arts with policy and the natural sciences. My art explores themes of environmental destruction and I seek to commune with the public in collaborative art-making.

I hold workshops and outreach with people of all ages, co-creating sewn plastic portraits with them.

My work has been supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Fulbright Nehru program, and the Connecticut Office of the Arts.
