I use an inspirational, motivational style to excite the students to write and read in Children as Authors for K-5. Through one of my eight books, storytelling skills, and drawing, I demonstrate how to improve their writing, and show how a story is created through brainstorming, editing, and problem solving. In Writers' Workshop for 1-5, I help the children find energetic verbs, adverbs, adjectives, and descriptive writing and to create a character, plot, drama, and ending. "The principal, teachers, and children were so impressed. Jana kept everyone mesmerized. Anyone who can keep students attentive for that long is a true educator! It was perfect for our second language learners. Jana knows how to teach, entertain, and inspire students." (Ms. Whaley-Tobin, teacher, Boston) "Jana Dillon's Writing Workshop was a smashing success! Her ability to break down the story writing process...in an accessible and age appropriate manner was ... impressive!" (Ms. Slater, librarian, Taunton). I have visited close to 500 schools, all with excellent evaluations.
