Institution/Business Type: Artist / Creative (Individual)

The artwork of Jacqueline Gelfuso Gallo explores the interconnectivity of the natural world, the spiritual world, and the human world by combining traditional and modern techniques of image-making. Inspired by ancient folklore, New England heritage, and the branching, growing, layered gifts of the Earth, she strives to stimulate curiosity and inspire a deeper connection to the natural beauty and wonder around us. Jackie lives in Western MA. She has earned a BFA and MFA, both with a concentration in Drawing and Painting.

She has also earned an M.A. Ed in Art Education.

Currently, Jackie teaches high school art and college-level fine art courses in addition to working in her home studio. She has exhibited her two-dimensional work in New England, New York, and Italy. Her jewelry has been featured in craft magazines and within local craft galleries. When she’s not in her studio, she loves spending time with family, her husband, and their fur baby Salem. She also enjoys reading, dabbling on the guitar, and kayaking. Passionate about nature, you can almost always find her in the forest on a trail.

About her recent work:

The Tree Tarot is an in-progress concept tarot deck that Jackie is currently developing. The imagery incorporates her love of trees, as well as, the ancient symbolism and significance of the selected species as it relates to each card.  Her plan is to complete and publish the 78 cards within the next year or two. Her dream is to send a percentage of the profits to organizations that directly benefit forests and encourage deeper education, appreciation, and protection of forests for generations to come.
