Always entertaining and educational, Michael Bresler, also known as Fishel Bresler, is best known for the beautiful Jewish music of his klezmer and chassidic music ensemble. This talented group, led by Fishel on clarinet, flute, mandolin and harmonica, (and with the occasional song in Yiddish,) make music that laughs and cries, dances, soars and dives to reach the hearts and souls of audiences of all ages. In school programs, Michael offers a choice of programs adapted to the needs of the students. He has a multicultural musical repertoire and a supply of easy student participation instruments. Michael's professional bands give concerts of klezmer, bluegrass or old-time string band music. Michael (BA in music) has been teaching for over 30 years, kindergarten through college, including extensive experience with special needs and multi-ethnic inclusion projects. One of his programs, Flute Soup is an exciting multi-cultural array of flutes, fifes and other flute-like instruments, including the traditional music of each presented by Michael and Phyllis Aronson. Different musical structures are described; students are involved in singing and clapping to teach careful listening. As an actor (including comic and mime) and storyteller, Michael introduces students to realistic characters bringing stories & songs from other cultures. Engaging, creative performances: "Sappy the Old Cowpoke", "Around the World in 50 Minutes", etc. deliver Michael’s multi-cultural repertoire and extensive experience with special needs students. Michael, who performs with a keyboardist and assistant, has been performing his shows for over 15 years.
