Eudaimonia, A Purposeful Period Band is a vibrant Boston-based baroque and crossover ensemble that uses musical performance to lift up the humanitarian work of local social action organizations. Founded in 2015 and directed by early keyboardist Vivian Montgomery and violinist Julia McKenzie, Eudaimonia brings together some of the Boston area’s most creative performers in the historical performance field. As an artistic collective, we build upon shared ideals, ignited spirits, and a desire for healthy collaboration. Eudaimonia’s repertoire spans the early Renaissance through contemporary times and our programs center around vocal, chamber, and orchestral works that speak to the mission of our partner organizations. The works of women composers are seamlessly blended into our programming. Eudaimonia was a recipient of a grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts in summer of 2024. Eudaimonia-music.org
