East Boston Artists Group

  • Massachusetts

    MA

Institution/Business Type: Guild / Union / Professional Association

Founded in 2000, the East Boston Artists Group (EBAG) supports and connects local artists and showcases their work in such events as Open Studios, Harboring Creativity, Boston Design Week,  and other exhibits within and outside of the neighborhood. We also engage in social activism benefiting both artists and the East Boston community.

We are a community of artists located in historic East Boston, a growing and vibrant arts destination. We hope to expose the community of East Boston to the sophisticated contemporary art being made in its own backyard and to expose artists of the region to our vibrant and eclectic community across the harbor from Boston Proper.

As a pioneering neighborhood arts organization, EBAG is proud to support local artists and to be part of East Boston’s burgeoning arts scene. Our members represent a diverse array of backgrounds and artistic disciplines.

As we celebrate the 25th year of our founding, EBAG is beginning to offer art workshops and additional opportunities for the community to engage with artists and art. Please visit our website for information on exhibits and events.

*All events are free and open to the general public unless specifically noted as otherwise.

Man in gray shirt, sitting at a table, holding a copy of the Wall Street Journal. His mouth is agape and he looks surprised. Dark, text-based art hangs behind him on a chain link fence. A cellphone showing text and images is open in front of him.
View of Boston East Gallery with artwork hanging on walls. Chairs and oversized floor lamp that looks like a desk lamp fill the floor space. Window in background overlooks part of Boston Harbor, facing Chelsea, MA.
