DrumatiX is a high-energy, New England-based performing arts company (with additional companies in San Diego and Los Angeles), that blends tap dance, body percussion, creative drumming, and technology to create rhythm-driven, theatrical experiences. Founded in 2017 by award-winning choreographer and multidisciplinary artist Noa Barankin, DrumatiX transforms everyday objects, invented instruments, and percussive movement into interactive performances that spark imagination, ignite creativity, and engage audiences of all ages.
The company’s signature production, Rhythm Delivered, is a family-friendly, humor-filled show featuring audience interaction, inventive instruments, and dynamic ensemble choreography. DrumatiX has been featured at venues in New England, New York, and Southern California, including Lincoln Center and Symphony Space (NYC), Hollywood, San Diego and Rochester Fringe Festivals, Clayton Opera House (NY), 24th Street Theatre (L.A) The Grand Ritz (San Diego), and throughout New England, including the Mosesian Center for the Arts, The Regent Theatre, The Strand Theatre, Arts at the Armory, Salem Arts Festival, and Beantown Tapfest. Corporate clients include Cisco and other global brands.
As a strong advocate for arts education, DrumatiX is a roster artist with MA Arts For Learning, offering interactive performances and residencies for K–12 students in schools, libraries, and summer camps, both in-person and virtually. In California, the troupe is a roster artist with The Music Center, Arts Education Connection San Diego, and Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
Noa Barankin, DrumatiX’s Founder, Artistic Director, and Choreographer, is an Israeli-born artist whose career spans international touring, musical theatre, choreography for television, and dance education. Before relocating to San Diego in 2022, she served as an Assistant Professor of Tap Dance at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Her performance credits include Tararam, Tempo Tap Company, and the award-nominated musical Power of Wishes in Israel. In Boston, she toured with The Boston Tap Company and Off Beat Tap.
Noa is also an accomplished teaching artist, having led workshops at institutions such as MIT, Brandeis University, Middlebury College, and at festivals including Beantown Tapfest and Southern Vermont Dance Festival. She has earned national recognition for her choreography, and continues to work across disciplines as a musical theatre director, singer-songwriter, and visual artist.
