I am a poet who has done readings of his work and spoken about poetry for more than 35 years in the United States and Europe. I was Poet Laureate of Suffolk County, New York from 2005-2007. I am the author of seventeen collections of poetry and I have done readings in Ireland, England, Italy, Austria and many places in and around New York City and Long Island including The United Nations and The Library of Congress. I am a resident of Webster, NH. I have spoken about poetry in front of groups from kindergartners to Senior Citizens to Doctoral students and had profile of myself done by Public television, public radio and many newspapers including The New York Times. I am a recently retired Clinical Assistant Professor at Boston University's School of Dental Medicine where I gave the 2011 Commencement Address. It can be viewed on YouTube under my name. In 2012 I was the featured poet and a judge at the finals of Poetry Out Loud for Massachusetts. My newest collection, "In the Kingdom of Autumn" was published in 2020 by Salmon Poetry in Ireland as was “A Shed for Wood” in 2014. I have had two collections published in Indian and four in translation by the University of Bucharest in Romania. I have also had some 420 poems published in twenty different countries. My collected papers are being achived at Stony Brook University.
