The mission of Dance in the Schools (DIS) is to integrate a broad array of dance forms into the academic and arts curricula to enrich learning for the Cambridge Public School Elementary School students. Children’s learning is expanded through kinesthetic, physical modalities, involving them interactively via dance. Dance in the Schools helps children develop their ability to focus in school, think creatively and cooperatively, innovate, and problem-solve. The year 2022 celebrates 25 consecutive years of active collaboration with classroom teachers and guest Dance Teaching Artists in the school classroom. The first hybrid sessions were offered in 2021.
