Institution/Business Type: Performing Group

Ammaya Dance & Drum is an ensemble of dancers and drummers who practice traditional West African and African diasporic dance and drumming throughout the New England area. This troupe includes professional West African drummers, as well as a diverse group of professional American artists with a rich variety of dance and music backgrounds. The ensemble performs at concerts, school assemblies, festivals, parties, weddings and more. Ammaya presents the rich tradition of West African music and dance, then allows the audience to participate actively in the rhythms, movement and song. Our performances are full of spirit and fun for all ages. The ensemble performs to uplift the hearts of their audiences, playing for the joy and healing inherent in African traditions.

Come dance and drum with us to uplift your spirits! African dance and drumming brings people together in happiness, for rejuvenation, health and community. Release stress, work it out and get into to the rhythms....

Please contact us if you would like our ensemble to perform at your concert, assembly, party, wedding or festival; or if you are interested in our dance and drumming workshops.
