Institution/Business Type: Artist / Creative (Individual)

My name is Christopher Croucher and I am an artist, performer and healer.  My work, which is heavily dance based though I practice many forms of visual and expressive art as well, is the crossroads of those three passions.  Informed by my deep personal practice of nature-centered spirituality, my art opens doorways into self discovery, healing, and connection with nature and the magic of the world.

My background is cross-disciplinary, starting with a BA in Dance Composition from Bard College.  From there I began dancing with Dance Prism Ballet Company and went on to train in massage and healing work at the Cortiva Institute.  After running a private massage practice for two years, I moved to Scotland to attend the Glasgow School of Art, receiving a Master of Letters in Fine Art Practice Performance.  That is where my exploration of land and spiritually guided dance and visual art began.

At the end of my time in Scotland, I returned to Massachusetts and started to manifest more concretely the crossover between my healing practice, my art, and my spirituality.  My most recent project, Letting the Land Lead, is the creative embodiment of my experience, background and passion for the work that I do.

Accessibility of Services

Accessibility of Services:

  • Access accommodations for people who are Deaf and hard-of-hearing
  • Access accommodations for people who use a wheelchair and have limited mobility

I am currently in the process of assessing and building the accessibility of my work. My work often takes place in spaces that are difficult to access physically such as hiking trails. When that is the case, I am committed to providing a quality online version of the performance for those physically unable to attend.

As my performance work also involves aspects of guided meditation, I have worked with an ASL interpreter and closed captioning for audience members who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing.
