Institution/Business Type: Artist / Creative (Individual)

Aleksander Subotic, Artistic Director, choreographer and dancer, photographer/videographer, and writer has been an essential part of the creative artistic force for Mystic Ballet/Mystic Dark Room’s lighting and special effects with his father Goran Subotic. As co-creator of TIC technique he has conducted TIC master classes/workshops throughout the UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He has performed works by choreographers Goran Subotic, Stephan Toss, Sergei Vanaev, Sidra Bell, Gabrielle Lamb, Brian Enos, Jozsef Csaba Hajzer, and Lauren Edson. He has toured throughout New England, Germany, Serbia, Japan, and South America, garnering critical praise for his performances at Jacob’s Pillow, in New England and on tour. “Tall, regal and thundering with the conflicting emotions of the prince character, Aleksander Subotic commanded the stage with both an animal magnetism as well as the soaring, ethereal ideal of a man. Tender and attentive to his partner, Subotic displayed an adept command of artistic interpretation.” – Sharma Howard, Dance Critic.

His love of the outdoors has turned into a fixation on wilderness survival. His Native American ancestry spurs his drive to intertwine his two passions: arts and nature.
