Institution/Business Type: Artist / Creative (Individual)

I am a writer and a visual artist. My latest book, 'down the Plains,' continues my inquiry into my life as a French heritage woman growing up in New England. I do research on Franco-American women writers as well as write creative nonfiction poetry and literary criticism. My book Wednesday's Child won the Maine Chapbook Competition. This book is creative nonfiction that is about the Franco-American culture and its influence in many lives. 'down the Plains' is a continuation of the story that begins with Wednesday's Child. I have also contributed work to several anthologies, literary and historical journals, magazine columns, poetry, etc. I have edited other books of early Franco-American authors as well as contemporary writers in anthologies, titled, Canuck and Other Stories, I am Franco-American and Proud of It, and Heliotrope--French Heritage Women Create, which also was a finalist for MWPA Anthology.  For visual artwork, I work in assemblages, mixed media, collages as well as charcoal & pastels.
