Institution/Business Type: Performing Group

Hailed for "glorious music" and "great energy and virtuosity," the Olmsted Ensemble (Peter H. Bloom, flute; Brian Clague, violin; Jennifer Shallenberger, viola; Timothy Roberts, cello) performs European and American chamber music (18th-21st centuries), from beloved masterworks to rarely-heard gems. The ensemble concertizes widely, at Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Tufts University, Islesboro Maine Summer Concerts, Longfellow National Historic Site, Piedmont College (Georgia), West Claremont Arts Center (NH), Art Complex Museum (Duxbury MA), other venues. Members of the group tour with orchestras and chamber groups across North America, Europe, and the Far East. Bloom tours internationally; is featured on 40 CDs; won the American Musicological Society's coveted Noah Greenberg Award. Clague has toured the U.S., Europe, Japan as soloist and orchestra concertmaster. Shallenberger has toured North America, Japan, Taiwan, Korea. Roberts has performed with Boston Symphony Orchestra, Carmel Bach Festival, Smithsonian Chamber Players, Vienna Boys Choir, Boston Pops, many more.
