Pianist Marc-André Hamelin’s blend of musicianship and virtuosity brings fresh readings of the established repertoire and the lesser-known works of the 19th and 20th century, both on recordings and in performance. He performs at the worlds most famous venues in orchestral concerts and recitals. He was worked with today's leading conductors, composers and orchestras. He is an exclusive recording artist with Hyperion Records where he has made over 40 recordings, been nominated for 9 Grammy awards, and has received a lifetime achievement prize from the German Record Critic’s Association, and is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Chevalier de l’Ordre du Québec, and a member of the Royal Society of Canada. He has also recorded a Grammy nominated CD of his own compositions which have been published by Peters Edition.
