Laszlo Gardony is a critically acclaimed Sunnyside Records recording artist, jazz pianist & composer. "Gardony’s playing is luminous and informed by a gravitas reserved for musicians who appear to have soaked in even the most hidden worlds of music" -All About Jazz. Gardony has released 14 albums as a leader, toured in 27 countries, won First Prize at the Great American Jazz Piano Competition. The Boston Globe's "Top 10 Jazz CDs of 2015" included Gardony's "Life In Real Time." Larry Katz (Boston Herald) calls him “a consistently inventive player who combines an ear for melody with a strong rhythmic sense that grabs the attention of even those who normally resistant to jazz.” Jon Garelick called him a "genius" and Dave Brubeck a "great pianist."

Gardony's most recent CD is his 2023 trio album titled "Close Connection" (Sunnyside Records,) which was named as one of the year's best jazz albums by Down Beat Magazine.

The trio members are John Lockwood (bass) and Yoron Israel (drums). For the quartet, Don Braden (saxophone, flute) is added.  The sextet also features Stan Strickland (reeds, vocals) and Bill Pierce (saxophone).

Gardony is a full Professor of Piano at Berklee College of Music in Boston, teaches at Harvard University's Jazz Combo Initiative, and he is a Voting Member of the Recording Academy/GRAMMYs.

Gardony performed and/or recorded with jazz greats, Dave Holland, Miroslav Vitous, David "Fathead" Newman, Randy Brecker, Eddie Gomez, Dave Liebman, Bob Moses, Victor Lewis, Avery Sharpe, The Wayfaring Strangers, and Mick Goodrick, among others.

Laszlo's performances radiate the joy of inspired creation, audience connection, and spontaneous improvisation. His concerts are unique experiences that draw from deep emotions, impressive technique, and a playful curiosity that revels in interpreting each distinct moment.
