Judith Bird is a fine artist, muralist, illustrator, decorative painter and Expressive Arts Educator. She has a Decorative Painting  business based in Burlington, Connecticut, where she creates murals, decorative wall paintings,  faux finishes, trompe l’oeil, hand painted furniture, and floor cloths. Her most recent public work adorns the walls of the indoor exhibit hall at Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area in Burlington, CT. Judith is interested in bringing her decorative murals into centers and offices focused on healing. One project involved wall paintings in the exam rooms of a doctor's office in Avon, giving each room a theme expressed in the decorative work.

Each layer of Judith's fine art paintings - a combination of collage with hand-printed paper, paint and pastel - express a process of reaching into deep personal and spiritual awareness. Her recent works are reflections on nature, dreams, and women's lives through an explorartion of alternative portraiture, imaginative image, and expressive color.

Judith teaches workshops and private sessions in Expressive Arts in the Connecticut area, including the towns of Burlington, Avon, and Canton, CT. She assists her clients in a process of self-exploration that uses inner imagery, color, symbolism and art to nurture creativity and promote relaxation, health and general well-being. She currently teaches art at Hunter Montessori School in New Hartford, CT. She uses Expressive Arts and Reiki with the elderly through Bristol Visiting Nurses Association and Cherry Brook Health Care in Canton, CT. She facilitates “Birth Art Workshops” for Motherwise Midwifery Care, in Mansfield, CT. and  Judith has taught at Farmington Valley Art Center in Avon, CT, and  Poetry Alive through Litchfield Performing Arts.

Judith graduated from The College of New Jersey, with a BA in Art Therapy. She is qualified as an Expressive Arts Educational Facilitator through Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. She completed the Pastoral Counseling Training Program, St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT.
