Institution/Business Type: Artist / Creative (Individual)

I am an artist and art teacher with ten years of experience in K-12 public and private schools, art centers, summer camps, rehabilitative care.  I specialize in teaching across the academic curriculum to use the arts as a vehicle for learning new content and expressing understanding.

In my own artwork, I primarily work with graphite and watercolors on paper. I am also highly technically proficient in making and teaching pottery (handbuilt and on the wheel), printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpting, weaving, sewing, puppetry, and cooking, particularly in the context of the relationships between those disciplines and core content areas such as math, science, literacy, and social studies.

My educational background is as a graduate of Skidmore College, B.S. Art, and from Tyler School of Art, M.Ed, Art Education.

My educator background is as a K-12 Art Teacher, certified in Vermont, New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania.  I currently teach interdisciplinary art in Burlington, Vermont and in public education in Richmond, Vermont. I teach year-round workshops and Summer camps through Burlington City Arts.

As an artist, I have exhibited my own work in a solo shows Studio Place Arts in Barre, Vermont, Studio STK in Burlington, Vermont, and Uncommon Grounds in Saratoga Springs, New York. I have also been part of many group and thesis exhibitions.
