"One of the nation's most remarkable theater productions. You'll be enthralled." -- CT Family Adventure Guide.

The American Magic Lantern Theater is the nation's only professional theater company recreating Victorian Magic Lantern shows -- the combination of projected big-screen images, live acting, live music, and audience participation that the movies developed from.

AMLT has been touring nationally and internationally for 22 years -- to theaters, museums, schools, and festivals--and is now collaborating on a full-time magic lantern theater at Bird-in-Hand, PA. Traveling shows include: Halloween, Christmas, American History, Civil War, Spring or Summer, Valentine's, History, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Black History, Constitution Day, Fairs and Festivals, A Christmas Carol (Scrooge), Sea or River or Lake, First Night (New Year's), Campus Residencies. Please see our web site, www.MagicLanternShows.com for detailed descriptions.

"An incredible experience . . They're a living national treasure" -- NPR.

Appropriate for adults and children. Also available with a book signing with our new book about the magic lantern, Before The Movies.
