Sudbury Savoyards is a non-profit community theater organization founded in 1961 that specializes in performing Gilbert and Sullivan's light operas ("operettas") - aka G&S - and works of other composers. The original G&S productions were staged in the Savoy Theater in London; a "Savoyard" was an habitue of said theater, hence our name. We aim to put on artistically and technically excellent shows and to keep the "community" in community theater.

We are one of the few theater companies in New England that performs the G&S canon as "Theater on a Grand Scale," with casts as large as 60 or more people, a full orchestra of as many as 30 pieces, and full staging, costuming, and lights. We perform one large scale show a year (aiming to produce a G&S show every other year) and produce a smaller-scale, usually non-musical comedy or light drama in the summer, and occasionally participate in community events like parades and public festivals.
