Sandy Litchfield is an artist scholar and educator. She teaches courses that lie at the intersection of art, architecture, design and writing. Her studio practice– which focuses on contemporary representations of landscape and urban ecology­– includes painting, collage, installation, and public art.

Litchfield's artwork has been exhibited in numerous museums including the DeCordova Museum, The Portland Museum, and The Fitchburg Art Museum. In 2018 she completed a mosaic mural for PS 14X an elementary school in the Bronx, commissioned by NYC School Construction Authority, Public Art for Public Schools Program.  In addition, she has been commissioned to make murals for The New Britain Museum, The Nicolaysen Art Museum in Wyoming and Duffy Design Group in Boston. She has received fellowships from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Mario and Jasper Whiting Foundation. Her work has been selected for review by The Brooklyn Rail, New American Paintings and The Boston Globe.
