Institution/Business Type: Cultural Series Organization

Sageseeker Productions is a Hartford, CT-based event/experience curation company that works with companies, organizations, universities, activists and artists to create events, projects, and exhibitions that center urban artists of color and the communities they serve, bringing them in critical conversations with broader audiences. We produce our own projects such as the La Sala Femme series and consult and work with other institutions to tailor productions to their needs. Lead curator/producer, Jasmin Agosto has been working with artists, activists, students, and elders to organize cultural arts and history/herstory focused festivals, events, exhibitions, and programs for more than a decade.

La Sala Femme is a performance installation series featuring collaborations between musicians, choreographers, visual artists, DJs and vendors, primarily from and based in Hartford and New Haven, CT. Featured performers are Black womxn, womxn of color, non-binary and queer folks of color. We welcome all to join us. Each production has been in different pop-up venue spaces in Hartford thus far. In 2020, La Sala Femme will be on tour from Hartford to New Haven, Brooklyn, and LA. Over 75 artists have been featured in the past 7 productions. The event audience tripled from the 1st to the 6th event, with more and more young womxn of color, queer folks, and men of color supporters saying that they were craving for and seeking a space where they felt affirmed such as this.
