Kevin Sherwin is a conductor, composer, and guitarist, with performances including his solo debuts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Regent Hall in London, England. He is Music Director of the American Romantics Orchestra, which he co-founded, as well as Associate Artistic Director of the American Baroque Orchestra. Through both organizations, he has been an Artistic Leader for Carnegie Hall’s Link Up Program. Mr. Sherwin serves on the faculty of the undergraduate Mahanaim Music Program in Huntington, New York, where he is Conductor of the Mahanaim Orchestra.

Mr. Sherwin recently made his conducting debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall with the Mahanaim Orchestra in works by Prokofiev, Mendelssohn, Gounod, and others. As well, he has conducted across the United States in a wide-range of repertoire. He has been a featured conductor with the American Baroque Orchestra, leading world-premiere arrangements on recordings projects including “Memories of Eastern Europe” and “Little Liberia: Music from their Front Porch.” 

As a composer, Mr. Sherwin has received commissions from Independent Curators International, the Connecticut Office of the Arts, YoungArts, the Sundays at 5 Concert Series, The Town of North Haven, the Bruce Museum of Art, and others. He was also a featured composer at the “The Passing Show” produced by Unsung Musicals Co. at the Pershing Square Signature Center. In concert, he frequently includes his own compositions for guitar on his solo recitals. In addition, he has composed scores for films that have been Official Selections at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International ShortFest, the NYC Chain Film Festival, among others. In 2022, he served on the jury for the Best Music Category at the Miami Film Festival.

Mr. Sherwin studied at Yale University, where graduated with Honors. Previously, he graduated from the Pre-College Division of The Juilliard School, studying with Tali Roth. He continued his studies in guitar with Christopher Ladd and conducting with Mark Bailey. Mr. Sherwin is a Fellow at Timothy Dwight College, Yale University.
