For the past fifteen years, Jason has been on staff at the American Museum of Natural History where he is Senior Producer and Editor making documentaries about scientific research and field work. Prior to the Museum, Jason was a freelance cameraman and editor in New York City. He spent two years, 2001-02, filming with a preeminent ethnographer for a documentary chronicling the relocation of tenants during the months leading up to the demolition of the Robert Taylor Homes in Chicago. With his wife, Leigh, Jason founded Kinobserver, a full-service production company. The Morfoot’s narrative short, In-between Worlds premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival (2014), Capital: Impressions of Early Empire premiered at Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (2004) and their feature documentary Citizen 3.0 is distributed by Filmakers Library (2008).  Jason holds a B.A. in History from Trinity College and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law.

Jason is currently in post-production on a feature documentary, School District—a boots on the ground meditation on public education. The film chronicles Connecticut's Stamford Public Schools working throughout the pandemic, reimagining equity, and starting the process of dismantling its own structural racism and inequality.
