Institution/Business Type: Artist / Creative (Individual)

Hannah McGee (she/ her) is a performing artist from New Hampshire where her dance journey began. She attended the Bogovich School of Dance for 10 years, training in hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, ballet, pointe, tap, and musical theater. She is currently pursuing a BA in dance and business management at Springfield College, expanding her knowledge and diving deeper into a more diverse embodiment of styles and artistic expression. McGee is a performer, teacher, and choreographer. While at Springfield College she has also performed works by Darrell Grand Moultrie, Sarah Zehnder (Zehnder Dance), Tatiana Desardouin (Passion Fruit Dance Company), and Maureen Shea. As a part of the SC Dance Repertory Company, McGee has performed at the Springfield Thunderbirds Hockey halftime show and the American College Dance Association’s (ACDA) adjudicated and non-adjudicated performances. She has also assisted in leading dance activities at various schools around the Springfield area.

One of McGee’s skills is being a leader in various ways, for instance, teaching dance classes, choreographing, directing a musical, and being prepared. She currently serves as Public Relations for the SC Dance Club, as well as Co-President of the Best of Broadway club for the 2nd year. She has taught dance classes for ages 3-23 in an abundance of styles including hip-hop, jazz, ballet, contemporary, tap, musical theater, and improv.

McGee has choreographed dances throughout her high school and college years. McGee’s choreographic research explores themes that she is passionate about like women's empowerment, body positivity, and mental health awareness, such as depression and anxiety. Her most recent choreographic research called, “1 in 6” explores the social movement #MeToo. The artist of this song, Taija New, watched the dance live and stated, “I am so deeply moved by the story behind the choreography and the message from the music that you all made even stronger through dance.” McGee is equipped to keep developing and exploring new ideas through performing and choreography.
