Institution/Business Type: School of the Arts

D.R.E.A.M. Studios is an after-school performing arts program and conservatory dedicated to introducing inner-city youth to the world of theater. Since our founding in 2003, we have been committed to creating and showcasing diverse new works, with a special focus on empowering African American and multi-ethnic participants to embrace bold theatrical expression.

Each year, we produce five distinct types of performances, including Children's Theater, Teen Theater, Main Stage Productions (adults), Dance Concerts, and Black History Celebrations.

Our Executive Director, Benjamin D. Smith, brings a wealth of experience to the role as a playwright, choreographer, songwriter, director, and actor.

Additionally, D.R.E.A.M. Studios collaborates with the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, NJ. Through this partnership, we work with their education department to provide theater experiences in public schools.
