Black Rebels - ***"African Roots Reggae"***
Presents performances of original reggae music promoting cooperation and nonviolence, respect for each other and for the planet. Features four-part vocal harmonies, incredibly danceable beats, an international and intergenerational lineup, strong women's and men's voices and a stage presence that has often been described as "life-changing". Ensemble members have performed all over the world and collectively have decades of arts-in-education experience.

A performance can be full ensemble with vocals-electric guitars-bass-keyboards-drumset; vocals-acoustic guitars-upright bass-hand percussion; nyabinghi drumming and chanting Rastafarian praise songs; traditional African drumming, dance and song; or a combination of the foregoing.

A workshop or residency can include demonstrations of the instruments, rhythms, movements and songs and how they are put together, plus individual or group instruction.
