Institution/Business Type: Performing Group

The Bill Lowe Andy Jaffe Repertory Big Band has been in existence since 1986, performing dozens of original compositions and arrangements as well as large ensemble jazz works by such iconic composers as Mary Lou Williams, Bill Finegan, Charles Mingus and Sun Ra, among others.  Featuring some of the best improvisers and interpreters of jazz music in the New England region, the band convincingly interprets music in a wide range of jazz styles.  With years of experience teaching and collaborating, Bill and Andy are interested in bringing the audience into the performance, often including accompanying workshops and lecture demonstrations with their performances in hopes of expanding the listener's experience beyond the purely aural.
