Alexandra Turner is an arts educator with over ten years of experience in a wide variety of settings. Alexandra holds an M.Ed. from Saint Michael’s College, and a B.A. in Studio Arts from Empire State College. Alexandra loves making art with children and adults, and offering opportunities for participants to experience the joy, relaxation, and deep learning that comes through the process of artmaking. Currently, Alexandra is engaged in work that combines arts integration, Universal Design for Learning, mindfulness, and collaboration to develop curriculum that engages as many types of learners as possible. In addition, Alexandra provides professional development opportunities for early childhood and afterschool professionals, as well as teaching artists on the topic of inclusive arts and arts-based literacy. Alexandra was raised in the forests of the Finger Lakes region of New York, and now lives and works in northern Vermont. Nature and place have always been very important to Alexandra. She works in a wide variety of media, including glass, photographic processes, fabric, print, clay and paint.
Alexandra has completed successful residencies in Honeoye Central School, Edmunds Elementary, Winooski Elementary and in many home daycare and preschool settings.
