Accessories Unlimited of Maine began in 1968 when Chris Birchfield founded the company to produce her own designs, using her fabrics, manufacturing beautifully crafted totes, luggage and handbags. In addition to our own line of designer bags and totes we also do private label for leading American and European fashion houses like Saks 5th Ave., Laura Ashley, L.L. Bean, Martha Stewart, Cold Water Creek, Land's End and many more. Chris searches the world over for the fabrics, colors and materials to make our distinctive bags. Each bag is designed by Chris and crafted by Maine stitchers , some of whom have been with us for over 30 years. Now more than 35 years and millions of bags later, we are an industry leader making finely crafted totes and luggage that are prized fashion accessories for both women & men. Fashion leaders, movie and television celebrities, as well as a President have all carried our bags. The manufacturing facility is located in the 1875 Centennial Exposition Hall in Cornish, Maine.
